In order to slow down the spread the new coronavirus, decisions have been taken by the mayor of the Municipality of Pécs on Monday, March 16th:
„Effective Tuesday midnight (March 17th), practically meaning Wednesday early morning, local bus service provided by Tüke Busz Zrt. will operate based on the summer schedule. Details of the summer service operations will be posted in bus stops, at the railway station and the website of Tüke Busz Zrt. (www.tukebusz.hu) In the meantime, we are considering the possibility of further bus service reductions, thereby protecting bus drivers of endangered age groups.
From Monday, March 16th, I have ordered more frequent disinfection measures on all vehicles providing local bus services.
From Wednesday, March 18th, I have ordered the disinfection of handles and seats at the completion of their route.
The measures enacted before are still in effect, meaning that in order to protect bus drivers, doors in the front of the bus and the front area of the inside are closed, and bus tickets are not available for purchase at the driver on the bus.
I urge the citizens of Pécs to keep distance from eachother on local public transit.
The main goal is still to ensure that as many people as possible stay at home, since this is the best they can do for their own safety and slowing down the spread of the virus.”
